Facials and Microdermabrasion: Two Popular Skin Treatments

by Judy Aulin

The is nothing better than a great facial treatment. It helps promote skin renewal and helps us relax. Microdermabrasion and cleansing are two different types of treatment that can be used as one.

Although facials include an exfoliation step, these two procedures are still not the same. Also, microdermabrasion uses mechanical exfoliants that are not the same as a facial. Read ahead to compare these two facial treatments.

Facial Cleansing

Facials clean, exfoliate, and nourish the skin to promote healthy skin. They are also known as deep cleansing facials or deep pore cleansing because they help extract impurities from the hair follicles.

There are 7 different steps that make us the facial treatment. First, the esthetician will clean the skin using a cotton pad and a cleansing product. The step may be preceded or followed by skin analysis to determine what products to use for your type of skin.

Once the skin is cleaned, the professional will exfoliate it with a mechanical or chemical exfoliant. If you'd like to treat your skin with a natural skin treatment, then you may request a natural exfoliant such as salt, sugar, or crushed grape seeds. Next, if the esthetician deems it necessary, he or she will begin extracting blackheads or whitehead.

After the extraction process, a facial massage is begun to help stimulate the skin and facial muscles. The facial will be completed once a mask, toners, and protective creams have been applied. This type of treatment should be performed at least 4 times a year if you want to see results.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a facial treatment that removes the outer layers of the skin with the use of mechanical abrasion. The main object is to provide a deep exfoliation for skin renewal. This treatment should be done by a licensed professional.

This procedure can be performed by a dermatologist in his/her office, but is usually performed in a day spa or salon.

Microdermabrasion can be done anywhere on the body, not just the face. It is a quick process that takes about half an hour and is fairly painless. This procedure is usually performed to deal with specific skin issues such as age spots, wrinkles, or scars.

Abrading micro-crystals are one of the factors that make a microdermabrasion cream effective. However, the cream itself may contain other ingredients including natural extracts. The ingredients added are to help soothe the skin during the process.

After your skin has undergone a microdermabrasion treatment, make sure that you protect it by using sunscreen. People who have sensitive mature skin should not use this type of treatment because it might cause rashes and irritation.

Skin exfoliation is a safe and effective way of keeping your skin looking younger while getting rid of dead skin cells, debris, and excess sebum. BIOSKINEXFOL is an all natural skin care product that can help reveal healthier looking skin. What's the secret behind natural skin products like this? The answer is the mix of natural ingredients that creates a product capable of repairing damaged skin cells and gently soothing irritated skin.
